BRAG's Housing Rehabilitation and Development Programs continue to help ensure that qualified individuals and families with low to moderate incomes have safe, decent, and affordable housing. Single Family Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program The Single Family Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program provides much needed funding to address inadequate housing. Low to moderate income families may borrow any amount of money at low interest rates to make much needed and eligible repairs. By investing now in the rehabilitation of existing dwelling units, a home's life-span can be extended a minimum of 20 years. Funds for the program are provided by the Olene Walker Housing Loan Fund. Emergency Home Repair Program This program will provide a grant up to $2,000 per household for minor home repairs that if neglected pose a potential health and safety threat. Typical repair projects include: roof repairs, bathroom repairs, correction of faulty electrical systems, individual septic system repairs, and individual culinary water hook up repairs. Repairs are made to correct hazardous situations and to keep those families in safe living conditions. Funding for this program is provided by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). |
