Dear CLTF members:

The Cache Critical Lands Conservation Campaign is getting underway, and we need your help to raise the funds to ensure a successful campaign. We have several immediate fundraising goals for July:

$10,000 by July 15

$20,000 by July 31

The exciting news is that we have already raised $7500 so we only have $2500 to go by July 15...and then we need to raise an additional $10,000 by July 31 to reach our $20,000 goal. We need to raise close to $60,000 by October 15...so this is just the beginning!

Because you are all in the local community, it is up to each of you to help raise these funds! In order to help you in your efforts, I have attached a pledge form that you can print out and/or send to possible contributors. This form should be used by contributors with their actual pledge. Mailing information and who the check should be made out to is included on this sheet.

Please talk to your neighbors, friends, colleagues, etc.

A few things to remember as you are asking for pledges:

Please do NOT accept any gifts in cash. It’s not against the law, but it is easier for us to deal with checks and we can keep a clean record of contributions.

Contributions are NOT tax-deductible
If someone gives $200 or more we need to collect his or her Occupation and Employer. This is required by the IRS and is really to ensure that people are not being compelled against their will to contribute by someone at the company.
Foundations cannot legally contribute to a political committee. Board members, Trustees and individuals who work for foundations can contribute their own personal funds.
Shauna & Dave will be working on a thank-you note for all contributions.

Several of us will also be working on getting endorsements from businesses, key leaders in the community, etc. Please look for a follow-up email about endorsements next week.
