Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP)
The Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIP) counselors provide Medicare beneficiaries with objective information on Medicare benefits, coverage options, supplementing Medicare, prescription drug plans, and available programs that may help pay for medications. Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP)
Each year billions of federal dollars are lost annually due to health care fraud, error, and abuse. The Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) empowers and assists Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse through outreach, counseling and education.
The primary goal is to teach Medicare beneficiaries how to protect their personal identity, identify and report errors on health care bills, and identify deceptive health care practices.
