Local Administrative Advisor (LAA) Program

The LAA program helps small local governments improve efficiency and effectiveness by providing resources and administrative support.

Eligible Program Activities include:

• Advise city and town leaders on personnel matters, budgets, agendas, resolutions, policies, and procedures
• Facilitate discussions with city leaders to create community goals and objectives
• Create and monitor budgets to balance community needs, government spending, and public accountability, including state compliance
• Evaluate and improve policies and procedures
• Provide templates for meetings, staff reports, ordinances, resolutions, and personnel reviews
• Connect cities and towns with resources for land use goals and objectives
• Recommend strategies for financial and technical assistance, including grant facilitation and compliance reports
• Work with city leaders on day-to-day issues, special projects, and urgent problems
• Produce progress reports on assignments and projects
• Examine and improve internal programs and procedures
