The Benefit Navigator Program assists eligible parents in achieving self-sufficiency by helping them increase their income and navigate public assistance benefits. We can help connect you with job training, financial counseling, and local resources to help you take steps toward financial independence.

You will work one-on-one with a coach to set goals, stay motivated, and get the support necessary to build a more stable and independent future for your family.

How does the Benefit Navigator Program work?

 

Goal Setting – Case Management

You’ll meet with a coach at least once a month, or more if needed, to set goals, make progress, and get the support you need.

Benefit Cliff Navigation

Public assistance can be confusing, and uncertain benefits can make career moves risky. Your case manager will help you navigate potential changes to public assistance benefits that could occur as your income increases.

Financial Counseling

Improving financial knowledge can increase confidence in handling your finances in areas such as debt management, credit, budgeting, etc.

Job Readiness Preparation / Job Search

We help you find a better job to meet your family’s needs. Your coach can support you with job searches, resume help, interview prep, and training.

Fill out the Info Request Form, and one of our Benefit Navigator team members will contact you to answer questions about the program and/or provide support with the application.

 

How to apply:

 

Option 1: Apply Online – Complete and submit your application. Email the needed documents (listed below) to humanservices@brag.utah.gov 

Option 2: Apply in person or by mail.

You may submit a completed application along with copies of all required documents in person OR by mailing to:

Documents needed: 

 

          • Social Security Cards/Permanent Resident Cards – all household members 
          • Picture IDs – all household members over 18 years of age 
          • Birth Certificates – all household members 
          • Proof of Incomes – for the last 30 days 
          • DWS Benefits Report – printout available through DWS My Case (if applicable)
