The Bear River Association of Governments (BRAG) , along with collaborating partners (Credit Aid Today, Neighborhood Non Profit Housing Corporation, Cache Valley Bank, Celtic Bank) are offering a free workshop which will provide financial education in Northern Utah which serves Cache County, Box Elder County, and Rich County. This workshop is all about the consumer – their needs, the barriers preventing them from self-sufficiency, accessibility to resources in the community and overall financial success. The goal of the workshop is to provide free information that will promote financial security and promote economic stability. The workshop will focus on budgeting, financial education and asset building, credit restoration, banking services, foreclosure counseling, and homeownership information. Financial stability builds self-esteem, leads to independence rather than dependency and forms stronger family bonds. Those encouraged to attend are households in or at risk for foreclosure, households seeking financial assistance, unbanked consumers, consumers with credit issues, and consumers seeking guidance. Neighborhood Non-Profit Housing Corporation is committed to create quality affordable housing opportunities, to enhance communities, and to provide households with the skills to become self-sufficient. Neighborhood Nonprofit’s services include: pre-purchase counseling, budgeting, home buyer education, foreclosure intervention counseling, financial coaching/asset management and HECM counseling.
