HOME REPAIR PROGRAMS

The Emergency Home Repair program will provide a grant for minor home repairs that, if neglected, pose a potential health and safety threat. Typical repair projects include: roof repairs, bathroom repairs, ADA accessibility improvements, correction of faulty electrical systems, individual septic system repairs, and individual culinary water hook-up repairs. Repairs are made to address hazardous conditions and help keep low- to moderate-income families in safe living conditions.

The Crisis Service Call Program offers emergency repair services when critical systems fail. If your furnace or water heater stops working, we respond to restore safe and essential services. This program is intended for urgent, unforeseen failures — not standard maintenance.

The Weatherization Program offers non-emergency, cost-effective home improvements and energy audits — free of charge to clients. Repairs and upgrades decrease energy costs, increase energy efficiency, and improve indoor air quality. Weatherization includes insulation, air sealing, doors, windows, etc.



Important Notices

1. The occupant must be under 200% of the federal poverty level to qualify for the Weatherization program.
2. Although not required, it is highly recommended that you apply for the HEAT program before applying for the Emergency Home Repair, Weatherization, and/or Crisis Service Call Programs, as this allows for more energy-saving measures to be completed on your home.
3. HEAT, Emergency Home Repair, Weatherization, and Crisis Service Call Program applications must be submitted under the same household member’s name and must be a U.S. citizen.

Crisis services are available for homeowners. If your furnace or water heater stops working, we respond to restore safe and essential services. Weatherization (Non-Emergency) Program

BRAG’s Weatherization program helps households lower energy bills, improve indoor air quality, and increase home comfort and safety year-round. Weatherizing a home involves conducting a home inspection and a computerized energy audit, identifying cost-effective energy improvements that can be performed on the dwelling, and then making those improvements. Weatherization includes insulation, air sealing, doors, windows, etc.
